Life is not a habit
The first/most important thing to point out is that hypnotherapy DOES NOT involve some magical taking over of your mind. Paul McKenna's TV show and other stage hypnotists have an awful lot to answer for!
Hypnosis cannot make you do anything you do not want to do. My clients remain fully in control throughout their relaxing therapeutic hypnosis experience, here at Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton Hypnotherapy.
Hypnosis is a completely natural state which occurs between wakefulness and sleep. We experience it every time we wake or fall asleep, but we are mostly unaware.
This trance state is achieved by deep relaxation of both the mind and the body using guided concentration. When this is achieved, the boundary between the conscious and the unconscious minds begins to blur and then the unconscious becomes open to receiving new messages. This enables you to look at deep rooted issues such as phobias, fears and habits - and let them go.
Hypnosis is not mind control, it is about offering suggestions into your subconscious.
Your subconscious mind is like a big vault, a big library of every experience, every memory and emotion. Most people can remember when they were learning to do something new, whether it was learning to drive, learning to use a computer or whatever.
At first you have to think about every action until eventually you just do it without thinking because your subconscious mind has learned the task and takes over. If this didn't happen then our conscious minds would very quickly become overloaded. The subconscious mind can learn good habits and ideas, and unfortunately bad and destructive ones. Hypnosis is about undoing destructive habits and releasing bottled up emotions.
Hypnotherapy here at Chichester, Bognor Regis and Littlehampton Hypnotherapy in Bognor Regis allows the natural therapeutic process to take place so that the emotions linked to negative experiences can come out. Once we find the root cause of the anxiety and release the bottled up emotion, the effect (the symptom) will disappear permanently.
Hypnotherapy costs £60 per session, and counselling £40
